The ISKCON of Houston and Hindus of Greater Houston are gearing up for a grand celebration of Shri Krishna Janmashtami 2026 along with the annual Kirtan Fest 2026 from September 4 to 7.

This year’s celebrations are especially significant as ISKCON Houston marks its 40th anniversary. The grand Janmashtami celebrations will begin on Friday, September 4, at the ISKCON temple located at 1320 West 34th Street, Houston.

The opening-day celebrations will feature three aartis, a fruit festival, a children’s costume contest and a spectacular drone light and sound show. The free event will begin at 6 PM.

The four-day festivities will continue with Srila Prabhupada Day and Bhajan Sandhya on September 5, followed by a Flower Festival (Pushpa Abhishek) on September 6. The celebrations will conclude with the Kirtan Fest Finale on September 7, which will end at noon.

A special costume contest for children aged 0–12 is also being organized in partnership with Hindus of Greater Houston.

Parking & Shuttle

There will be no parking at the temple on Friday, September 4. Free parking and shuttle services will be available from Houston’s 1st Baptist Church, 7401 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024, from 5:30 PM to 1 AM.
