Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor’s sports action drama Peddi opened to mixed-to-positive reviews from critics. However, the film witnessed a strong turnout at theatres on its first day, with fans flocking in large numbers, giving it a bumper opening at the global box office.

Despite some criticism over the portrayal of the female lead, the film has managed to cross the ₹100 crore mark worldwide on its opening day, further reinforcing Ram Charan’s box office pull.

Strong Opening Figures

According to Sacnilk, Peddi collected a net of ₹51.00 crore across 12,412 shows on day one. This takes its total India gross collection to ₹82.49 crore, while India net collections stand at ₹69.50 crore, including ₹18.50 crore from paid previews.

In overseas markets, the film has grossed approximately ₹30.00 crore, taking its total worldwide gross collection to ₹112.49 crore on opening day. However, the makers of the film have reported a higher figure, claiming a worldwide gross of ₹135.36 crore on day one.

Comparison With Other Big Releases

While Peddi could not surpass the opening day worldwide collection of Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar The Revenge (₹238.60 crore), it has outperformed several major films, including Pathaan (₹104.19 crore), Jawan (₹129.13 crore), and Prabhas’ The Raja Saab (₹100.9 crore).

It has also recorded a significantly better opening than Ram Charan’s previous release Game Changer, which collected ₹80.9 crore worldwide on its first day.

What Lies Ahead

With a strong opening weekend momentum, all eyes are now on Peddi to see whether it can sustain its performance at the box office and emerge as a long-term commercial success.
