Powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela and Japan, causing widespread concern and prompting emergency measures in both countries.
Venezuela was hit by two major earthquakes within a short span of time. The tremors were recorded at magnitudes of 7.1 and 7.5 in different locations, according to reports. The impact of the earthquakes was felt strongly in Caracas and several other areas, where some buildings were reported to have collapsed.
Following the strong seismic activity, residents rushed out of their homes in fear. Authorities began assessing the extent of the damage and monitoring the situation closely.
Tsunami warnings were also issued for Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands following the powerful earthquakes in the region. Officials advised people in affected coastal areas to remain alert and follow safety instructions.
Meanwhile, Japan was also struck by a strong earthquake, with the magnitude recorded at 6.9. As a precautionary measure, railway services in parts of Japan were temporarily suspended following the tremor.
Authorities in both countries are continuing to monitor aftershocks and assess the impact of the earthquakes. Emergency teams have been deployed to affected areas to assist residents and carry out damage assessments.
