An incident involving a Zepto delivery boy in Hyderabad has sparked a discussion on social media after he reportedly pleaded with traffic police not to seize his bike, saying that his wife was in the hospital.
According to the information available, the delivery worker had parked his bike on the roadside while heading to pick up a delivery order. Traffic police reportedly seized the vehicle, alleging a violation of traffic rules.
The delivery boy is said to have pleaded with the officers, “My wife is in the hospital, sir. I’ll complete just one delivery and come back.” However, he reportedly claimed that his request was not considered.
While enforcing vehicle and traffic regulations is part of the police’s duty, several people on social media have expressed the view that emergency situations should also be handled with a humanitarian approach.
The incident and the related video have now sparked a debate online over the way the delivery worker was treated.
