Karnataka’s new Alcohol in Beverage (AiB) policy has cut beer and premium liquor prices by up to 25 per cent while increasing rates on cheaper Indian-made liquor. The state has also shifted to an alcohol-content-based taxation model, becoming the first in India to adopt the system.
