WORLD WEAVERS ORGANIZATION

WWO was formed by like-minded people who identified the need for a common global platform for the weaving community. While different organizations already work independently in various parts of India and other countries, WWO aims to connect these communities, encourage cooperation and collectively address economic, educational, social and cultural challenges faced by weaver families.

To build a united, empowered and globally connected weaver community where heritage, education, opportunity and mutual support are accessible to every weaver family.

Weaving has a long and significant history in India, with traditions passed down through generations and distinctive weaving practices across different regions. WWO's history initiative highlights the diversity of Indian weaving traditions and its mission to help protect this artistic and cultural heritage. WWO itself emerged from discussions among people who wanted to create a single international platform connecting the scattered weaving community. Its leadership currently identifies Anjan Karnati as Chairman and Founder, alongside founders including Harinath Policherla, Raj Addagatla, Ramesh Munukutla and Saradhi Karyampudi.

WWO's stated mission is to identify, network and connect weaver communities, organizations and individuals across the world on a common platform. Its activities also include supporting education, scholarships, medical camps, youth programmes, community empowerment, philanthropy and collaboration with governments and other organizations.
