Our ongoing activities include …. 1. Recognizing and rewarding youth who excel in academic and extra-curricular activities. 2. Involving youth and senior citizens with the Irving city related community service projects. 3. Providing food to the needy in the area. 4. Supporting police and fire rescue departments. 5. Participating in clean and green environmental activities in the area. 6. Volunteering at different events hosted by the city of Irving. 7. Presenting outstanding achievement awards in various fields to deserving people on October 2nd of every year, Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday. 8. Promoting Gandhi’s principles and philosophy by hosting lecture series at various educational institutions. 9. Initiating and introducing courses like "Power of Peace & Non-violence" in various educational institutions

MGMNT Supported Activities in 2016 - • MGMNT supported and sponsored two University of Texas Arlington (UTA) students- Ms. Fatima Ayan Mallika Hirsi and Ms. Katelin T. Smith to attend International Conference on Gandhian Philosophy & Activities (ICGPA) at New Delhi, India on May 29, 2016. This event was coordinated by Dr. Ritu G Khanduri, Associate Professor of Cultural Anthropology, UTA. • MGMNT established the “Mahatma Gandhi Fellowship” at UT Dallas, Richardson to support graduate fellowships. • MGMNT helped the victims of an accidental fire that happened on April 8, 2016 at Jefferson Ridge Apartment Complex, Irving across from Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Plaza.

Mahatma Gandhi Memorial turned out to be a unique landmark in USA. People from all regions, religions, and races like Indian-Americans, Asian-Americans, African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans and Jewish-Americans became part of our organizing committee and worked hand-in-hand to make the project successful.

Our Annual events at this Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Plaza include-- • India’s Republic Day (January 26th) • Mahatma Gandhi Death Anniversary (January 30th) • International Yoga Day (June 21st) • India’s Independence Day (August 15th) • International Day of Peace (September 21st) • Mahatma Gandhi Birthday (October 2nd – with "Gandhi Banquet" & "Peace Walk") and any other appropriate events.
